I have planted a Mexican Drooping Juniper seedling in a non-woven bag instead of a pot. It is much healthier looking and slightly larger than the other 3 which are in standard pots. This appears to be a better method for species that are particular as to drainage and aeration.

I primarily grow trees in Rootmaker containers which is also root air pruned container. I MUCH prefer this method over regular smooth sided container. The root system is really good and you don't have to cut up circling roots. Just pull trees out of container and plant. They seem to establish significantly faster. It's a big plus for large trees because they can take a long time to get established and most people don't seem to have the patience caring over large trees for several years. They prefer to just plant and forget.
