Hi... I'm pretty clueless about bamboo -- I know about clumping vs. spreading but otherwise have just begun learning.

For starters, I'm hoping to find a bamboo for a pot -- something that would be 4-7' tall and could take late afternoon hot sun (from 4PM to about 7PM) -- that may not sound bad to some, but trust me, it can be really hot. Also we have very low humidity in summer, although I can water it as needed. And it would have to be able to survive zone 8 winters in a pot. Are there bamboos that can take that kind of situation?

Thanks for any direction you can give me. I can do the research but in this case I don't know where to start.
