Red mulch experiment

Latest way to increase size and yield of vegies is called red mulch. Local nursery swears that it works. It's a red film that reflects specific light frequencies into the undersides of leaves. Just bought some to try on potted bamboo. It's made by "Gardeneer" at www.gardeneer.com.

If this is plastic or otherwise impervious then you immediately have the problem of it acting as a vapor and moisture barrier, same as with other plastic films.

It has small holes in it to allow moisture in and out.
I'm now experimenting with 5 potted plants and 1 in ground plant. After 2 weeks all is well. Good new leaf development
plus more colorful culms. The bambusas appear to like it the best. Rgds
