We have a lot of Ph. aurea around town, some in very big groves and hedges, that looks dead due to the drought this winter. We've had heavy rains 2 or 3 times in the last 2 weeks, so I expect all the yellow leaves to drop and be replaced.

I didn't water my various Phyllostachys enough this winter, and it got quite yellow, but hand watering has turn it all green again, with few yellow leaves still hanging on.

you can certainly cut any culms or culm tops that don't green up with warmer weather.

rite on. well i guess i will leave it be for the time being and see if over the next month or so it starts to ditch the yellow leaves and dead leaves. if it doesnt by june then im guessing they arent gunna drop and i'll trim off all the dead/yellow stuff!
