Hi bamboo people. I'm writing from Adelaide Australia. I would like to grow a large timber bamboo, one of the Phyllostachys perhaps. Our climate is similar to places like Califoria I believe. We don't have much frost in the winter (rarely below freezing) but our problem is hot dry summers, temperatures around 100F and almost all our measly 600mm of rain in the winter months.
Can anyone suggest the most likely candidate for these conditions? We can keep the water up over summer and protect them from hot winds etc.
