My builder uses Houzz Pro to plan the timeline and give detailed estimates and daily updates with photos of progress, and provide invoices at pre-agreed key points in the build. This made the whole experience much more efficient and stress-free.
All of my large bambusas are about equal in putting on size, but not equal in the number of culms they produce.
Remember, lako is not near as cold hardy as tuldoides, so it will be set back during the colder months, making it slower to get large, since it will have to make up for what was lost during the cold spells.
Mine is doing fine in a large pot. I had to lay it on it's side this Winter, in order to get it inside of my greenhouse on the colder nights. I would recommend keeping yours in a pot, at least this first year if possible, so it will get some size and especially some good root/rhizome growth.
As I mentioned above, lako is about equal to my other large bambusas when it comes to speed of growth, but I have yet to try some outdoors...maybe next year.
Following slightly behind my Oldhammi, but a little larger with a few more culms than my vittata. Has a knack for me to have a failed/aborted shoot now and again, something that doesn't happen to my other bambusas
Started out with a small 4 culm plant...1/2 inch dia being the largest. 3 years later, about 20 or so culms...the larger about 2 inchs at the base. I took one decent culm to propagate it and got 2 out of 7 success rate. I started the propagation last Sept, so that could've been a factor. I'm going to try some more the end of this month...if it ever starts to rain again here in tropical Florida...Z
