Droppy Boo.
Hi All.
At first my Black Bamboo was doing great. It grew to 10' in just a few weeks. I watered every other day and it seemed happy. I did have an overfertilizing mishap, but it recovered...until about three weeks ago when it started to bend over more and more. Now it's just 4 feet from the ground, curved over at the top.
I was still watering every other day, so I figured I was overwatering and went to once a week. It didn't seem to like that, so I'm up to twice a week. The lower branches have lost it's leaves and are slowly drying up (I think, they're brown and withered).
I think I can fix this, but how? I should mention that I posted about a month ago regarding a pleasant smell coming from the boo. Someone posted that it's contaminated dirt and suggested I repot. I can't. I need my BF's help and since the thing is so large, he'd rather it just smell, LOVELY. Until my dad comes over to help, I can't do anything about it, but could this be related to the bending?
I have tied it to one of the older shoots, but I'm worried it will just bring that one down since it's not as tall.
HELP.
Barbara
