Rather than start a new thread, I wanted to add to a thread I started here a couple months ago. Can't find it using the forum search function nor the google site:gardenweb.com with search terms "air-layer" or "propagation"

I'm wondering if the new owners decided the archive database was too large ($$$) and they truncated it?

Would you please try to search the bamboo or other forums and see if you agree?

I really hope I'm wrong because if they have truncated the archive, it would be a huge loss.

I've had a couple like that and I always assumed that it was just a scar from damage as the shoot was coming up (maybe rubbing against a sharp rock below ground). I've never had a culm fail because of it.

I can't wait till I can move south more and grow Japanese Timber boo and Moso boo.
