Musa zebrina (blood banana)--NOT BASJOO. They are not nearly as cold hardy--among the more tender bananas actually. Good luck with it. Happy 4th!

Yes, beautiful but tender. I just looked and it says hardy to zone 9 so I guess you can keep it outside. They grow a little slower but the color is worth it. An easy ID on basjoo is the leaves are entirely green except for a slight hint of red down the mid-rib. At least at smaller sizes. And the "trunk" stays completely green instead of colored like many others do.
