varigated bamboo

I have two different kinds of bamboo and not sure the name but when i bought it it was to grow 15 ft on one and the other 6 ft. Neither of these has done it. They look good but one has got about 3 ft after three years and the other is only about 1 ft. Does anyone know if i'm doing something worng or is this all their going to do.

Bamboo often "sits" for several years before taking off. I would expect that you will see significant growth by next year at the latest. Fertilization at the appropriate times and the elimination of plant competition can shorten your "sitting" period.

It would help to know the species, to confirm what the size potential was for each.
