You might be all right now...but it would be safer if you waited until late fall.

After giving it some thought, I decided to go ahead and move it now. We've been having some mild weather, rain almost daily and more expected. I can water as often as needed.

The thing that concerned me about waiting until late fall is that the spot I moved it to gets cold winter winds. It just about knocked out some green (P. nuda) I planted last in the spot last fall. I think getting this golden in there earlier might help it prepare itself.

As I said, you'll probably be ok, but I'd be interested in hearing in a few weeks if it showed any signs of transplant shock or aborted any shoots.

March and September have been recommended as optimal times in the past. I think all you have to do wait until it stops shooting this year, if concerned about culms aborting that are appearing now (because you disturbed it).

There was some yellowing of leaves on the older shoots, but all the new shoots have continued to grow and leaf out nicely.
