How Long?

I recently transplanted what we think is bambusa Multiplex golden goddess. I put some in containers and the rest in the ground. The bamboo was taken from the ground. How long does it take for the leaves to return to their normal appearance, and when do you know that it has taken hold? Another question, should I cut the culms down, and how much?

I planted golden goddess early last spring. My golden goddess was in 3 gallon pots and I divided it agressively cutting it in 4 pieces with a bow saw.

This may have been a little aggressive in division the nursery suggested cutting it in half but I wanted to get the most for my money. In about 1 season most of the divisions look like the original 3 gallon pots.

It took 1 season and it looks healthy now, but it looked pretty sick for a while and I thought it might have even been dead.

I can't wait to see what it does next season.

This reminds me I really need to start a garden journal so I can keep up with this stuff.
