What is it?

cayugalake

About 16 months ago a friend gave me a stalk of what she said was a begonia.

It has grown beautifully.

It is now about 3 feet high with several branches. It has elongated-heart-shaped green leaves with silvery pink dots on the surface, but the underside is reddish - almost the same colour as the clusters of flowers.

Does anyone have any idea of what it could be?

Can it go outside in the summer?

Some sun? Full shade?

Thank you for any information!
