That sounds more like flower buds to me, but I may not understand your description. I assume you know that seeds of hybrid plants like 'Cracklin' Rosie' will not come true. Might be interesting to see what would come up tho', if you do get seeds. I have a couple pots of 'Cracklin' Rosie', by the way, but I've never seen a bloom, or even a bud. One of these days I should give it a little TLC and see if I can! It's such a gorgeous plant, isn't it?!

I'm with you greenelbows. I don't remember my Cracklin Rosie ever blooming. But if it did and had some seed pods but if the seed pods fell off before they ripened then I doubt the seed would be any good. I have other canes that have seed pods that ripen on the plant (into the next year like Lana and Irene Nuss) and then I have canes that abort the blooms before ripening (I usually let them where they fall on the ground but have never seen them dry up but rather rot).
