another lost caterpillar

EEK! Okay, okay...I did it again, and I am NOT Britney Spears!

This morning, I was cleaning and feeding the 'pits and decided to take two of the remaining Monarchs to school. So, I got them all ready to go with a fresh container, loads of leaves, paper on the top of the lid in case they wanted to pupate...

Somehow, I got busy with getting all my stuff to go (we're doing another !@#$% district test which is supposedly a MATH test but is more of an ENGLISH READING test!!!) and I had all these books I was taking to school with me for those who finished early (with Dr. Seuss/Read Across America coming up, I have been doing a big Dr. Seuss thing in my room) that I misplaced the cup of Monarch cats! Yep, I did. I forgot 'em until I got to school. Next thing I knew, I thought to myself, "What did I do with those caterpillars?" only to realize I didn't have them with me.

"Oh well, I'll get them when I get home. They've got plenty to eat and are probably going to pupate today anyway." Yeah, right! I get home and can I find the cup? Nope. Had DH searching the house. No cup to be found. I have absolutely NO idea where I may have put the poor things. Knowing me? I walked around the house with this cup and put them somewhere, only to pick up to do some other task...I bet those poor dears will eclose as butterflies and I hear this flapppppping sound and THAT will let me know where they are. Sheeeesh. I cannot believe it.

The only good thing is that the lid was ON (at least I do hope I didn't have it only partially on...this is something I am known to do so that DH comes home from surfing to find butterflies flying throughout the house).
