Oh my aching back!

Well I did it. It was sunny today in the high 50s and I went out and took all those seedlings out of the window boxes and ran the hose over and over until I got all those roots apart.

Then I punched holes in 76 big drink cups and planted each seedling in its own cup. Whew! Three hours and my back and neck hurt lol.

Now what the heck am I going to do with all these cups???? DH is going to be in shock when he gets home and sees the job ahead of him. Someone please remind me of this day if I ever get the urge to start some seeds again.

: )

That was ambitious alright, jackie. I hope they turn out just as you had hoped, I am sure they will. I bet your husband will be shocked!

It is a lot of work though! :)

    Jackie,

Job ahead of him? Making some shelves and lighting or something? Ask it as a Christmas Gift. These kind of Christmas Gifts mean and worth more because you want it and you could not do it alone...
Good luck with your seedlings. I envy you right now.

    Thanks hopflower!

Yes Soultan - shelves shelves shelves.... : )
I think I already got my Christmas present and birthday, anniversary etc. lol. About three weeks ago I woke up and found a gift bag on the kitchen table that said "because I love you" and it contained a Canon xTi Digital Rebel and two lenses, polarizing filters, the whole shebang.
He's awesome and I couldn't do most of my garden projects without him.

Oh jackie, that's amazing you got all those babies separated. But don't give up on making seedlings.

Your man sounds like mine. He shows you how he appreciates you with gifts! Mine makes me furniture! We are a couple of lucky gals. Now let's see you use that camera!

Yes, Jackie! Now that you have such a nice camera, you can share photos of your seedlings and flowers! We can't wait to see!

The whole enterprise is rather exciting. We simply have to have pictures!

You see, I like those kinds of gifts as well. Everyone can give when Christmas or Birthday comes, but only those give whenever who really want to give.

Well here's a pic of them outside yesterday. They are now in the house in front of every available window space.

DH just shook his head and said "why?" I said "cause I could" he said "but what do you think you're going to do with all of these?"
I said "I don't know. I just want to see them bloom so I know what they all look like!"

I got tired at the end so some of the cups have two seedlings in them, and the ones that are still in the window box and the ones at the bottom of the picture are all the ones from the pod off of Appleblossom.

The thing that kills me about the Appleblossom seedlings is that AB is my least favorite amaryllis. I was ready to give my two ABs away last year. Go figure. I hope the seedlings don't look just like AB because it was selfed. I'll be disappointed if they just look like AB.

Magnificient, Jackie. You really took on a daunting task. Congrats!

Jackie, I am the same with Apple Blossom, but just think of it this way: you have created seedligs that most of us are not able to produce for the love of God... It is really hard to get seeds, then seedlings from Apple Blossom. So if they don't look good for you, then Just give the bulbs away. I am sure that a lot of your girlfriends will be thrilled to get blooming bulb from you for Christmas. Or you can give the bulbs away for charity as well. So don't think for a moment that you were and are doing it for nothing.

Wow, Jackie! What a seedling collection! What a job that was to plant them all! I'm tired just looking at all those cups! They do look healthy and happy, though...

Now a cup of coffee, jackie?
