lol, Weather was nice Sunday, I was outside doin a couple things..came in and said to DH (in a very cheery way) "Spring is almost here!!" He looked at me and said "are you nuts??" I told him he was, and he'd better not argue with me, ya HAVE to have a positive attitude! Only 72 days baby!!! woohoo!!

I have my eye on some seeds...but I have so may I have to start, I don't know if I should order them or not..dilemmas, dilemmas!!!

    I know I'll be ordering some...lol...Can't help myself!!!...I'll definetly share :)

    Come on Spring!!

Caren sounds like you know what to do with your winter blues if you should have them lol. I wanted to get my WS started with the seeds I found out last night that they can be WS.

Theresa you made it even easier to know what to WS and what not yet. BUT I went to LOWES and LOWES and behold....they had BULBS:...lots and LOTS of them. Oh me oh my. The stash is still in the car. Got to wait till DH falls asleep before I sneak it in ha ha ha ha ha ha

I only got one catalog from Spring hill yesterday. Looks...oh my the prices are so steep :-(
Now I think I got enough things to keep me real busy. It is a lot more fun getting things and finding out that you got something really need. That you might not picked out yourself. Especially in my case with not knowing the names rofl

Again I wish everybody so much fun and success with growing your plants from seeds....give little_ get LOTS :-)

I have been really tempted by the veggie seeds. I really would like to have a small veggie garden this year. Yes, Lucy Lowes had a ton of bulbs and tubers the other day. I got a pink amaryllis, lol. I was eyeballing lots of other stuff but John was with me, lol. My oxblood lillies came today. They said they are also called schoolhouse lillies and look like small red amaryllis. I am going to do a drift of them in the corner bed out back.

See Kristy, that is why I go shopping alone if I REALLY want to shop rofl.

I can not wait to see your oxblood lillies bloom. I love lilies...Iris' and EVERYTHING else. If it was for me, I would have one of each kind of plant there is! Wow can you imagine?

Caren, glad you are having fun looking over catalogs. I rarely get seed/plant catalogs because I never order from them; if I see one, I do go through it mostly because I like looking at the pictures.

Lucy, you are too funny, "The stash is still in the car"!!!

    Caren,

Yes, I am having so much fun browsing through all the catalogs. Unfortunately, I've been really bad this year and have ordered quite a few seeds. I've ordered from Seedman, Totally Tomatoes and Johnny's Seeds. Not to mention the Ebay and Amazon purchases. OUCH. I need to stop.

Lucy, I do the same thing here...hiding my plants. I can't take the 1/2 hr lectures anymore. ha ha.

I have to tell you a true story about several of us girls and a trip to Cinn. Ohio. We went to a National Daylily Convention there and decided to go shopping just before going home that way we would not stress out our purchases.

We stopped at a well known hybridizers gardens and we all dropped a LOT of money on these newer daylilies. One of the gals was quick to make her purchased and then began video recording the gardens while the rest of us were running around like chickens without heads buying more and more plants.

We all get into the car and are so excited about our purchases and we go on and on talking about how much we spent and the gal with the video recorder says she spent $150 on one of the daylilies. We laughed and hooted almost all the way home.

Well, she gets home and wants her husband to edit the video so it can be shown to our daylily club members and all of a sudden the picture goes black and you can her us girls giggling and excitedly discussing all our purchases and how beautiful all the daylilies were and just before we begin talking prices she jumps up and turns it off stating we need to do this another time. Here she had forgotten to turn off the video recorder when we got into the car and it had taped all our discussion about how much we money spent. ha ha. She had to delete that before her husband heard that part or she would not have gotten to go with us again for a very long time. We all died laughing when she told us about what she had done. ha ha. Now we double check her recorder. ha ha We can't let her have blackmail on us.

So be careful girls....watch those receipts, credit card bills, stash the cash and for heaven sakes don't trip on anything when sneaking your beloved plants in while hubby is sleeping. ha ha ha ha ha ha.

Roflmao, I do pretty good during the summer but get on a buying binge in the winter for some reason. Lucy you are just like me. I want one of all kinds of plants. I would really love to live close to a botanical garden. Maybe we can go visit one this spring. John came in last night when I had my saved emails open where I hide all my paypal reciepts and he saw them. I tried to hurry and close it and he said I see all those paypal things. I was like uuh uhhh that was from ever since I had this email account. I hope he didn't get a good look at all the dates that were this month, lol.

I really really want Wild Horses. I love that daylily.

Yes I have been getting a ton of gardening/seed catalogs too. Isn't it funny how you request a catalog from one place then soon you get all these catalogs that you never even asked for? I do look through them all but don't buy a whole lot. I am always happy with the seed I got from parkseed but I wasn't pleased with the butterfly bush plants I got from them. But if you are getting seed they are good. I like the burpee catalog but I think their stuff is way too expensive, I usually get my burpee seed from walmart ot lowes way cheaper than the catalog has it. I got a catalog from gardener supply co. and their was some neat stuff in there though most is out of my budget. I also order seed from Thompson and Morgan and was always pleased with it. I am not doing a whole lot of seed other than brugs and dats this year but I will still look through the catalogs because I like the pics too.

    Funny story

Ha...You guys are TOO funny...I go buy plants when my hubby is at work, get them planted before he gets home and he doesn't even notice!!...Then when we're shopping together, like at Lowes or Home Depot, he knows I'm gonna hit the garden dept and bring home plants...So I'm covered for now, unless he really knows but won't say anything cuz he knows I'm obsessed!!!...lol

Then comes the "preordered" plants that are always delivered when he's home...Dang...Those are hard to explain, but I tell him how nice the yard looks...lol...he just shakes his head...He's really ok with it all...He knows it's my hobby...Better than spending money on "useless" stuff...haha

I think I'm gonna try Sweet Peas this year...Like to try something different each year.

Mine was the same way until he realized come spring all those plants int the garage had to go somwhwere and there are suddenly so many more in there, lol. I convinced him they are the same ones that were in there all winter they just grew, lol. He fell for that for a while until he opened one of my boxes and saw the invoice on something and I really usually don't spend that much on a plant unless its a good deal or something I have never seen before and want real badly, well it was one of those times, lol. Now he gets all freaky if I mention ebay so when boxes come I just say oh Bonnie sent me this nice water plant and it was Bonnie from Bonnies plants.com just not our Bonnie, lol. If they keep forgeting to not include the prices Im gonna kill them. How hard is it to just saw the name of the plant or growing instructions or somthing, lol. I always wanted to try sweetpeas. I usually wait too late. When do I start them? I think I actally have some already.

But, good luck in your search for that plant. Try ording from John Shooter he is a wonderful man. Here is there website. http://www.mariettagardens.com/

Dorothy how right you are and putting it all on DH hahahaha smart gal!!

Kristy E bay needs to do what the sex places do, you never know it comes from them. ONly the mailman. ha ha ha boy did the guys at the postoffice always have a great time when a person had moved and the mail did not have to be returned. The opened it and got t strings even out of them at times lol Of course they were size 00 and would only fit my daughter roflmao.

Lucky for me the mailman sometimes comes before my DH gets home lol Not so yesterday when I got my 3 Iochroma's. Man she shipped it in 3 seperate boxes!! They are huge plants!

    Lucy

That's great, Lucy, about the Iochromas being so big! Can't wait to see the blooms. What kinds/colors did you get?

    Theresa

You guys are too much; so creative on how to slip in plants/seeds you've gotten! I really need to stop reading any posts about seeds, because before this winter, I never winter sowed seeds, and I never ordered seeds online! Now, I received my seeds from 7servant7 (rustic colors rudbeckia, pink orgami columbine, pink peony poppy, bhut jolokia peppers), and waiting on my order from Value Seeds placed on Wednesday (MG Cameo Elegancce, black peony poppy, cosmos Daydream, salad leaves Niche Oriental mixed, Purple Dragon carrot, Verbena venosa, sweet pea American). Don't know where I will plant all this stuff unless I do away with the lawn, LOL!

    Eloise,
The lawn can go, less mowing!!! LOL
You can't stop now your hooked!
    Just plant on...

    Isn't this fun!!

I've got an order at Value Seeds (ordered from them lots before), and Green Gardens Galore so far.

Plan on ordering from Bluestone Perennials soon to take advantage of their 15% off before Feb 11.

I saw at Target last night...SWIMSUITS!!!..Can you believe it??...So now that means that new garden stuff will show up soon...NEW PLANTS HERE I COME!!...lol

Some of you will unknowingly be sending "me" plants...lol...Too bad some of them will be marked with different garden centers names on the boxes...lol

Still waiting for a few catalogs to get here before I make my final decisions...May have to buy more EE's and Japanese painted ferns since mine are all mushy and look real sad from all the rain.

    knotz

Eloise and you thought we only enable brugs roflmao Good luck with your seeds!

Theresa 2 of the Oochroma's came with blossoms. Oh my gosh they are so cute and tiny. Why did I think they were bigger? One is purple..blue? The order says Royal blue. One is Wine Red and then F. Red. Got to go to e bay and check for color. It was a rush rush kind of buying thing ahahahaha Like Kristy when she had a drink or is in pain and finds out later she was on e bay roflmao.
But I do have to leave a wonderful comment for her. She was so nice until I had figured out how to pay since I had never verified my paypal account and the amount was to much to go through.

Caren you are real funny. Hold off on buying EE's If you just want the normal kind I am offering. You KNOW you will get them REALLY from ME hahahahaha Just either put yourself on the EE offer thread I started or fire me up a e mail. So I remember to send you some too.

Ha, Dorothy, the only problem is that I do like the lawn!
knotz, haven't looked up Green Gardens Galore so will take a peek, LOL!
Lucy, you're not kidding that you guys are great enablers in various things, LOL!!
