Sorry oxmyx for not replying but it seems we have had a problem here for a few days. Love seeing you attempt these and yes 3-4 weeks if the seeds are fresh. I can just see you under those enjoying the shade!

I am going for a Tropicalesque garden this coming year. EE's Caladiums, Alocasias, Bananas, Castor beans, Passiflora, Red Leaved Crinum, Brugs, Giant Thailand Calocasia, Borneo Giant Alocasia, Rivia Corymbosa, Mandeville Vine, maybe Plmies some of that cool looking ground cover, (forget the name), etc..... Somebody have some suggestions?

oxmyx can't wait to see what you do. One of my favorite ground covers is corcia mint and the smell when you walk across it is heavenly. What those Alocasia, did you know they bloom?? How about adding some Perennial Hibiscus and some of those breath taking colored Callalilies?

oh yes and I have cannas too. Don't like hibiscus (might like a bright red) or callas, unless they bloom all summer... got anything in mind?
Yes! some of the aroids can be beautiful! ( and grotesques) lol

oh I might add some iochromas unless I cannot get flowers this year.

How about palms, gingers, bird of paradise (both white and the orange ones), ferns, orchids, spanish moss, and pothos can vine through all the plants.

Pathos? and yes ah..... Ginger, good!!

Passies are up! need to plant white Ginger

No pothos, aka devil's ivy or variegated philodendron. We use as an indoor plant, but you can grow it outdoors as well. In Hawaii, you see it growing outdoors all over the place, and their leaves get big there. It roots easily in water, so you can always have a supply. You can also use as ground cover, tradescantia.
