It prefers full sun or very bright light. A thorough wetting about every two weeks with a slight dash of food is sufficient. They will rot easily from excess watering. A rule of thumb is ...the whiter the Tillandsia, the more light and less water.

I think I posted a pic of this growing outdoors in my yard.Just google for that or GW archives. It's still going with pups after the mother plant bloomed and died..its been a toughy,surviving cats occasional climbing by. Some other Till's I have haven't,others are now start up branches. Cats.

If you take a look at my "floppy brom" post-you can see T.traminea, a bit shorter then the mother plant that bloomed last year. A light lover,no doubt about it.

Hi Gonzer, I didn't realize you've already replied to me about the T. straminea, I had neglected it for a while but now I have been more diligent about it. It grew a couple of "shoots" from the inside and I'm hopeful that eventually will produce a bloom. I wish I can post a picture of it but I'll try!!!

Annamaria, yes I replied almost a year ago. The main reason I rarely post here anymore is the lack of acknowledgemnet many have regarding questions they've asked. I find it somewhat rude that when a question is posted and subsequently answered by forumites that the OP remains silent.

I'm soooo sorry, gonzer, I never intended to be rude....my computer sometimes is "out of order", but I apologize since You were very prompt in answering me!!!!!
It's about 7 inches long but has started growing again, I hung it up on my south exposure window, it gets full sun from a.m. till the early afternoon, should I water it when the leaves curl up? I would reaaaally appreciate your opinion.
