John, your idea sounds good to me. Other option ~beheading & planting w/shorter stems~you'll soon see them looking as large as the ones in front. If you want to keep the tall, bare stem look, plant deeper (or mound dirt around?) as you thought to do.

Looks as though the lower roots died, and the plant is re-rooting itself naturally.

Thought about you yesterday Rosemarie - forget 'Super Bowl football',,, was more so thinking about the beautiful 'Succulent Bowls' you used to make - you got the knack and an eye for them bowls!

As long as the dirt won't wash away...until you get around to redoing the area, I think mounding will suffice.

I'm with you...not interested in Super Bowl...but reminiscing about our dog, Woody, as we had to send him to doggy heaven last Sunday. I was making a memorial album for him of 12 yrs (he was 13yo), remembering what I've planted over the years. Here's one of those succulent bowls you mentioned (& thank you!) from the early days of my collecting.

Rosemarie...so sorry to hear about Woody. :( Border collie? We've had herding dogs for years. No border collies, but right now we have two shelties.

Thank you, Laura. Yes, Border Collie (thee Best). We have a 3yo red & white border collie & 2 German Shepherds...so, one herder, one protector (mom) & one energetic playmate (pup). Our hands are full. Unfortunately, most of my garden is now overrun. Shelties sound like fun!

Thanks, Colleen, for the feedback. It purports that whomever goes there will not be able to traipse around the album. Not true? I know it is not doing it like had been done before. But, I just want to be sure I'm not leaving open all for anyone to see. If the whole album can bee seen, then I may have to change how I post pix! Well...in this case...there's only one pic in the album so far.

Thanks, Colleen. I appreciate you letting me know. I had to go through checking them all, because they had changed some settings on me. Some of my photos are missing too (empty albums~bummer).
