I thought you must have got lost in the bush while you were pulling down that shade house some time back. How's it going, have you completed the re-assembly yet?

The first pic in the folder "not sure of name or type" with the name "pineapple" looks like one of the Acanthostachys to me.

If it has an orange coloured miniature like pineapple with small yellow flowers it is Acanthostachys strobilacea and if the flowers are deep mauve/purple down in the base of the foliage it is Acanthostachys pitcairnioides. You can see pic's of both in the FCBS Photo Index.

hey splinter sadly i got a tad lost with life and every thing else. But the shade house has not been put up yet. It has been badly bent and broken, when it was moved around my property. and myself and my father has been too busy to show me what to do so it still sits in the bush waiting for me to put it together.

that pineapple bromeliad its flower is on a stalk that hangs down over the edge up to 45cm and i think it might have been orange. just googled Acanthostachys strobilacea and i think it might be him. thanks splinter.
