Hey Mike...

I was just thinking hows your variegated christmas cactus doing???

if you get a chance or time post a update...please..

Hey all....

we are getting spring weather here and the snow is melting, and the flood waters are going up...I live close to the Minnesota river and its predicted to be very high this spring....

but we are not the only ones with flooding waters, I hope it goes down fast for all that are dealing with flooding waters everywhere....

Hi Linda, best wishes to you and everyone out there having to deal with all the melting snow and the possibility of flooding. Hoping everyone will remain safe...

    Oh boy!

    Hello girls..

I will come right out and let's just say I had an accident with it. I was running it from the greenhouse into the house when I tripped and fell on ice which knocked the whole plant out of the pot causing the plant to break apart! Sounds like I am writing an insurance company about and auto accident..lol

Well, only half of it is growing since I killed the other while I tried to root the rest, of course being the whiter parts, when they just rotted and shriveled away:-(

Here is a picture of it, but it is starting to get new growth. Would you summer it outside and in full sun or shade?
    Thanks for asking!
Try and figure out the second picture. Can you guess what that plant is?

    Have a great day:-)

SO sorry Mike...unfortunately accidents do happen. Oh well, it could be worse right? At least half of it survived and the new growths is definitely a very good sign! Even at half the size it sure is a pretty plant!

Its some kins of Jade right? Not sure what variety though?

    Hello, Mike!
Dang, sorry about the loss of half the plant...adding my condolences to Nancy's.
And the new growth does look wonderful...like some kind of pink jelly candy.
The mix looks fantastic - keep it moist now that the TC is growing.

I can't see the underside of that Jade leaf, but I'd say it looks Hobbitish from the top.

    Thanks Mike....
sorry about your little accident, dang I hate when things like that happen...
but on the up side the plant looks healthy and the new growth looks good too..
I am always amazed at all the different plants arround, I have never seen or ever heard of this plant before...lucky you, you have one...
I'll keep every thing cross and wish for the very best growing for you...
you have a very good start, from what I see in the picture... thanks again for posting the picture....linda

    Thanks guys! Well and gals!

Ok. I will keep it moist. It ius under lights for 7n hours a day and I was wondering if you would put it outside in the spring and where?
Or would you let it stay under the lights all summer at 7 hours still?

That Nancy and Josh is a baby 'Red Horn Tree jade". I almost burnt one leaf putting it to close to the light. I hope it colors up fast now hat I have it under lights but at a better distance. I hope it looks like this soon:-)
I am going to start leaves once it takes off.

    Mike,

everything i put outside that was variegated last summer, burned. so if you take it outside i would not give it any mid day sun, just mourning or evening sun.

that little 'red horn tree looks nice, did you start it from a single leaf or a cutting.

i hope you are feeling better the posting season is almost upon us.
