actually the midwest is a pretty big area - but you may find that when or if you need to get to your containers the tomato cages and whatever you used to stake them in may be frozen in the ground

perhaps if you think they might blow around then wedge some rocks around them

pssst.. midwesternerr, one should never assume much from a screen name (guessing is ok though). For several things I use a screen name that reflects what state I am from, but it's not where I live now... Not this screen name of course, I've never lived in a bean...

I have not tried WS yet, but I will be soon... I am interested to see what others say about what might be necessary. We get some pretty wicked winds here...

We get severe winds here in winter, but gallon jugs stay put no matter what. They don't need any help to stay put. My 2 liters get blown over immediately if not supported, so I usually put things in bins.
