I have an Aloe ferox from seed, I am about to upgrade it into a 7-gal pot. Its a heavy plant.

I leave it outside unprotected spring to fall. In fact, I just put it out a few days ago. It handles light freezes easily. I give it supplemental water during hot days. I use a very coarse potting mix but it is definitely NOT kept on the dry side except during the winter when it sits quietly in my garage.
