I dont believe this.Years ago I was given a seed grown dichotoma that was a bit runty, in a pot in 2003. Kept in a pot until planted outside in the summer of 06 since it hadnt grown but a few stunted leaves. The freeze of 07 turned the few leaves red,and or possibly the roots were eaten by a gopher that had done serious killing damage to a few of my choicest plants that year.

In the spring of 08 I pulled it out of the ground-nothing but nubs for roots..And I SWEAR i meant to throw it into the recycle green bin. instead it somehow fell into a empty bucket with a few pulled weeds,etc. That bucket was in my garage all winter and spring of 08!..in the relative dark,of course not a drop of water. THEN-lol, I stuck it in a pot just as we had a 104f heatwave the next summer!..later it once again just fell out of the pot,its only water overspray from surrounding potted succulents all last summer.

THEN,It spent this winter in the garage etc,etc, The wife a couple of weeks ago planted it in a pot of crassula hobbit. What do I see on this leafless,rootless plant today?..A GREEN BUD-lol!

A strange snake like smooth,and crooked trunk,flared base plant that stubbornly clings to life,came inches from tossed out,planted at hottest and coldest weather of the year, kept in the dark two winters and spring. IT LIVES!

Bonsai Aloe dichotoma? I guess so.
