Overwintering?

I have been given a lovely bromeliad (like the one at the top this forum page). It has been outside all summer and we haven't had our first frost yet. It is in a 1g pot. Can it stay outdoors if it is protected? Or should I bring it in? I am in zone 8b.

I always bring indoors during the winter. I don't think bromeliads can take frost at all. Just put it someplace that gets bright, indirect light. If you use the heater often, you probably want to use a humidifier or set the pot on a tray with pebbles and water (the pot can't sit directly in the water), just anything to maintain high humidity.
