For your listed purpose, "Hrold Paige" might be better.

It has bushier,waxy, deep green and very large leaves, besides many wonderful huge red flowers.

I also live in the Blue Mountains.
I've collected a number of reticulatas over the past few years, but you have to hunt around as there is not a big range in the nurseries. Dr Clifford Parks is the most commonly available. For reticulatas I'd visit Camellia Grove at Glenorie as they have a good range of very healthy plants. Howard Asper is beautiful and fast growing, buy my favourite so far is Lois Shinault. Anyway, they could give you excellent advice.

For more certain and long term screening, I'd recommend a sasanqua camellia as they are more hardy and fuller in habit. Reticulata are more open in growth and thus do not screen as well. I think Sasanquas handle the cold winds we get better than the retics but it depends on your particular location. I love the reticulatas too, but for screening you want as much certainty as you can get. Other possibilities are hybrids such as Gay Baby.

There is a nursery in Katoomba that has a good camellia range but not many retics. It's nextdoor to Tunks Landscape supplies. It's called Carrol's Country Gardens.
