Greetings: I have a little succulent garden going, and I am devoting most of it to Lewisia which are unusual and have incredible flowers. A couple of the lewisia plants I've gotten, from nurseries, have several plants in one - they're multiple. I don't know the correct name for this, but it is something most succulents seem to do - send off baby shoots from the adult plant.
I think with most succulents you can split off the babies, but with Lewisia I think I've been told you can't do this. However, I don't know why this would be the case, so I'm hoping someone with knowledge of this somewhat rare plant could tell me if you can split them when they grow multiples like that.
I hope that explanation is clear enough. Thanks.
