I don't know why, but my plums, cherries and apricotts all have doubled fruit.

Doubling in stone fruits is due to stress during the period of flower development the previous summer.

Excerpt from that site re doubling -- "...Whether a fruit will be double or not is determined the summer previous to fruiting when the flower buds are going through their initial development. During this period, the young developing buds are sensitive to any type of stress that may affect the tree's growth. Work done by Kim Patten and Elizabeth Neuendorff in Overton, John Lipe in Fredericksburg, and researchers in California have shown that heat and water stress during the summer months increases the development of doubled fruit...."

Last summer was it's first in the ground, so maybe it got stressed, however it has never shown any stress. I will be thinning because if I leave all those peaches on this poor little tree, it will really be stressed. Last year it had none.

Is there any artificial way such as by using chemicals or any other methods to produce double/triple fruits? Elaeocarpus ganitrus(Rudraksha) having such shape has highly demand in my country (Nepal) so if you have any idea to produce such shapes and bigger fruit size could you suggest me? Thank you.
