I just planted 40 and have 36 coming up. An amazing plant the canna. It'll be fun to see what I get.

Thanks for the pictures. Where does one get seeds? I'd love to try this sometime. Is there a company that sells seeds? I might be a little late to ask someone to trade with me. Thanks again

I planted some seeds in pots about the middle of January and after about a week in water and tiny shoots starting I put them in pots and set them out about a month ago and they are doing real good. I got the seed from a plant that was planted just last year and ended up with about 21 shoots coming up and seeds galore. I don't know if these will bloom this year but I am really happy with how these are doing. Who knows, we may get some flowers! These are a fun plant to have.

Good job. Those will be blooming in no time. i get cannas coming up from seed in my yard all of the time, and i do nothing to the seed. There must be some kind of bacteria in the soil that eats away at the tough shell. Anyway, i just stepped outside and took these pictures of some volunteer seedlings in my yard. These sprouted sometime last fall. I remember seeing them while i was doing some weeding. There are more volunteer seedlings underneath some of my citrus trees too.
