My Apologies.....

to those of you who've e-mailed me and not received an answer. We recently gotten internet satellite service which is wonderfully fast, but their e-mail service was terrible! I wasn't getting all the e-mails people were sending me - even my daughter couldn't get in touch with me! Since my husband couldn't get the router to send Hughes.net to his computer, we're keeping the old dial-up service for him, and I switched my e-mail server back to Datasync. Still, I'm not getting all my e-mails, like they'll say I've got, say, 6 e-mails, but only 5 will download. It seems to work better if you start each e-mail fresh at my Garden Web member page, rather than replying to a previous message.

I've also been extremely busy lately, what with my disabled husband, my 5 1/2 acres, my 5 dogs, hummingbirds, regular birds, jillions of caterpillars including an HHD that's eating an entire pecan tree, my housework, cooking, and lately I've been going back and forth to the dentist - I'll be having periodontal surgery on Aug. 21st.

Getting old is awful!

Wow are you a busy woman! I thought as we got a bit older you got to slow down a bit, I guess that was not true...

I wish you all the luck with your surgery!

No apologies needed, Miss Sherry. We are just all glad you are still out there with us. Glad to see you in the forum again.

Yes, I'm trying to make time for the forum - I love it!
I forgot to whine about my 80-year old mother and how I'm having to deal with her situation. :)

WOW you have got a lot on your plate, MIssSherry. Thanks for still managing to answer all of our questions. :)

Email aside - Are you loving the high-speed internet?? Yeah!!!

I don't know how you have time for us! Thanks for helping us out despite all of the demands in your life right now.

    MissSherry,

Ditto what bernergrrl wrote. I'm amazed that you even have time for the butterflies. Probably, like me, you use the garden/gardening/butterflies for your rejuvenation. BTW, the first definition of rejuvenate in my Webster's New World Dictionary is " to make young or youthful again; bring back to youthful strength, appearance, etc." It may not apply to me ,BUT IT SURE APPLIES TO YOU!
    Keep your chin up.

    I will, Mike!
And yes, Sandy, I do love the high-speed internet!
If I didn't have my caterpillars and butterflies, I'd go totally crazy! They give me something to look forward to all the time, which is essential. I wish I could do nothing but take care of caterpillars, wander around my woods looking for cats, watch butterflies nectar in my garden, and only stop to take pictures of them all! Oh yes, and at night, I'd lay in bed and read books about butterflies, caterpillars, and plants! Wouldn't that be wonderful?!

You are appreciated, Miss Sherry. We all learn every time that you have something to share.

I sure don't know how you have time to do all that you do, and still have time to post pics and share.

Good luck with your surgery. I'll be sending prayers and butterfly hugs your way. :)

    Thanks, Linda!
Would you believe my high-speed internet connection isn't working at all now? I'm typing this from my husband's dial-up computer. Computers and the internet can be such a pain!

    Grrr...can I relate?

I just got back from Sacramento and we were reviewing two ONLINE programs. Unfortunately, my team was stuck 'in the dungeon' where we could NOT access the internet!! The publishers actually PAID EXTRA so that we could have wi-fi which rarely worked and even the wired version didn't work. I tell you, technology can be a b!@#$. But, ya gotta love it when it DOES work. :) One of the publishers was joking that the folks at the local Kinko's LOVED seeing them come in and were on a first-name basis with them after only a day, since they ended up having to go the PAPER route because the technology wasn't working!!! Grrrr...

Well, now Hughes.net is working, so I'm on the faster version of the internet! Here today, gone tomorrow.....

    Miss Sherry,

You are awesome! You amaze me with your knowledge. Thanks for the time you give this forum. And thanks for being selfless in sharing your expertise with us.
I'll also keep you in my prayers for successful surgery and quick healing time.

    OK Sandy

OMG, MissSherry - who would ever think naught of you for anything - we all know you have lots on your hands, and surgery to boot? Whew! I, too, wish you luck in that.

You have the distinction of Summa Cum Laude on the forum here. Wow! What would we do without you? Perish the thought!

Thank you, thank you for all the kind words, but I really wasn't fishing for compliments when I posted this thread. LOTS of people who've been e-mailing me have complained that they've e-mailed me several times before and gotten no reply, and one forum member thought maybe she had offended me or something, so I just wanted everybody to know that nobody's offended me or made me mad, well, except the people who run my internet providers, that is.
The nice woman who mops my floors every Friday is probably going to be quiting her regular job soon, and she'll be doing more house cleaning. She asked me if I had any more work for her, and I said "yes!" Without going into particulars about our finances, my husband and I are very lucky, and we're going to start taking advantage of it more, spending more money on things that make us happy. Having somebody to clean out my DH's radio room, my garage and my refrigerator would give me more time to devote to my favorite things, and y'all know what that is! I've got a whole lot of little luna moth hatchlings, I'll be getting some polyphemus eggs, hopefully some cecropia and io eggs, and so I'll be busy as can be keeping them fed and their cages clean. I've really been wanting to help restore the big moth populations around here, since they haven't come back naturally. Well, actually, I saw some big frass underneath a big sweetgum tree and underneath the convergence of some tulip poplar and sweetbay trees so it's possible that they're just now beginning to return. I guess the damage from Katrina was so widespread, 2 years isn't long enough for moths to get back to normal.
Anyway, the point of this whole thread was to let people know that I'm not offended, I just haven't answered a lot of e-mails because I didn't get most of them, and I've been so busy I forgot to answer some of the ones I DID get.
Happy butterflying, mothing, and caterpillaring! :)
