The big problem with too many tomato plants becomes apparent if you plant them. A friend who planted too many was desperate to not let any tomatos go to waste and worked herself into the hospital canning and making tomato sauce. Al

You are so right. I actually do not have any more room available for tomato plants. I already have 20 planted and 5 more needing planting. There is NO WAY DH and I are going to be able to eat all of those tomatoes. No worries, I love to share...I have lots of relatives in town, neighbors and DH's co-workers that all love tomatoes. This year, I plan on freezing pureed tomatoes and drying a few...That's it.

BTW, all of the tomato plants have been spoken for. Yeah. I feel so guilty dumping them once I have transplanted them into 16 oz containers.

This week I have given away 8 at the office, my buddy will get 6 on Friday, and the rest go out on the curb Saturday for whoever walks by. "Take one home to Mother".

I think I had upwards of 40 transplanted from seed into 4 inch pots. 12 failed for whatever reason. I planted out 14 for myself. Giving away the rest. It was nice to have such a large selection to choose from.

I have some too; About ten in gallon pots including Big Rainbow, Big Beef, Aunt Ginny, sungold, Big Rainbow, Hughes,Kellogs, Caspian, Lucky Gross, Cherokee Purple and in 4 inch pots Paul robeson, Lucky Cross, Aunt ginnys, and sungold. You know the story. I've already given ay work and a local treatment center.These are in Vacaville
