Just curious since I happened to see this post, is it "healthy" for cacti to be potted like this in groups? Or is it like when stores sell "bonsai" plants with the stones glued to the top -- looks nice, but is a death sentence for the plant. The small cacti I have had before do have small root systems, so I figure maybe it's okay. Just wondering.

Frank, I thought I'd read here that it isn't healthy for cacti to be potted in a dish with no drainage. Which is what mine are....as for a grouping, I'd almost think that would be ok, with proper drainage? Thats why I planned on repotting them individually. A couple peeps on another forum couldn't ID these either but said if I am careful with watering they thought they'd be ok.

The globular one with big spines looks like Ferocactus, possibly F. chrysacanthus. The columnar ones remind me of Echinocereus but I cannot say which one.

Ferocactus yes, but I think it has too few and thin spines for a chrysacanthus, I believe it is a F. emoryi.
The columnar: don't know, but is not an Echinocereus.
The third is a Mammillaria, maybe a form of M. compressa (but don't take my word for it).

Ferocactus emoryi looks right to me.

And Trichocereus spachianus, a South American columnar, might be your columnar. I agree with the last three IDs. Feros come from the SW US and Mexico, as do (I think) Mammillarias (I don't think their range extends into Central America). So you have three plants from two hemispheres - yay!

I'd separate them into their own pots, with drainage holes, porous soil, and even some top dressing, during the growing season, i.e. now.
