I've got two Thanksgiving parties to attend but I only plan on eating a lot at one of them. I have stomach issues so I can't gorge myself silly at either one - which is why the food aspects of the winter holidays pretty much escapes me. But I do ok just grazing on snacks all day long.

I've already made my standard pork sausage/apple/chedar cheese/meat balls, they're in the deep freezer.

Tonight I make Waldorf Salad for the work luncheon (small office, lots of food parties). I'm using up the last of my bag of lady apples and substituting dried cherries for raisins.

If I get time I will make a batch of my pumpkin pie fudge. Its time consuming and tricky; sometimes it tastes wonderful and othertimes its more like butterscotch or peanut butter fudge. The halloween pumpkins didn't have much color nor flavor this year. I always cook them down after that holiday rather than buy canned - it doesn't taste better, but roasting the seeds has become a tradition and I like having the cooked pumpkin on hand in the chest freezer. Pumpkin pie is something I eat all year long. I consider it a vegetable and not a dessert!

We are going to Hickory. My kids have never experienced my side of the family's feast. Tons of people, tons of food, lots of laughs and strolls down memory lane and more food. I can't wait!
