Update above list with some additional elusive items

I know Camellia Forest has had Cinnamomum wilsonii before, and he will probably offer it again someday. I think the same is true of Ilex buergeri. Have you been to that nursery? Try to go on day that isn't too busy so David can show you around.

I'd never heard of that Magnolia but at least it's being grown in the SE.

Seems like eventually Camellia Forest, Garden Treasures, or Nurseries Caroliniana should offer it.

Yeah, I know David and I have two Cinnamomum chekiangensis that come directly from his tree and one C. jensenianum from him. it would be cool to have a C. wilsonii. There’s a massive Magnolia lotungensis at Juniper Level Botanical Garden. Tony Avent was the one who said I should try it, though though he didn’t know of a current source. There’s also one at JC Raulston Arboretum.

Magnolias aren't hard to root. Presumably his tree will someday provide cuttings to a nursery.

Well, my wife is attending a tea making class at Camellia Forest Nursery. While waiting, I was able to locate the following…

• Acer laevigatum 'Hong Long'
• Acer fabri

Both the fabri and the Hong Long were very large. I got the last Hong Long but they have one 10 quart and a number of 5 quart A. fabri left.

Also scored a Cinnamomum camphora (last one), Castanopsis cuspidata (only a few left), Cartrema americana and an Illicium floridanum ’Swamp Hobbit’. I’m super stoked.
