What are you using it for and what type of light is it?

Need more info. I doubt the one you have will do a VFT any good. If it's a 68W cfl or 85W P-C or T5HO it might work. I gave a much longer reply but it seems to have disappeared.

Fluorescent lights aren't enough in the long run for VFT's. They can get them by in the short run but they really do need direct sun from being outside.

Is that opinion based on any experience using new lighting technology? Actually you can give a plant more total light than the sun supplies with lights set on 16 hours. We can almost replicate 'North America noon sun' but when you consider the low amount of light the sun puts out in morning and evening then total moles can be achieved easily. Of course the lighting is gonna cost you big time unless you are a DIY kinda guy. I'm getting about 4800 lumen from each T12 and can get better than 5400 lumen from T8s with older technology. This technique has only been in use for a little over 6 years now and I'm finding it works very well. It can also be applied to other fluorescents but I'm too cheap to go there just yet.

That is an old review and has some bogus info in it but it basically backs up my claim, and just talks about normal output.
I took a photo to compare normal output T12s and Overdriven T12s.

As you can see the OD lights are much brighter. Exact same bulbs with different ballasts. The pink tint from the OD bulbs only appears through my camera. I'll try to get some pics with a different camera, mine doesn't have a manual setting or I just haven't found it yet lol.
