My husband finally helped me clear a large part of our side yard so I can put in the rest of my garden. Yay! I'm dancing with ya!

WOW! and in all this heat too yet. I'm impressed.

I'll sit on the bench with Westelle and wait for fall/winter to do the heavy projects.

I don't know how you do it in this heat, but congrats on getting all that accomplished.

Oops, didn't mean it indicate I've done it all in the last few days! I just finished the list that's been staring me in the face for the last few months. Today I did the last thing, dug up an out of control western clematis that had forced itself between the fence and the reed screen I had stapled to the fence (can we say rat city, folks?). There's still plenty of dead heading, dividing and weeding to do, but it's in manageable amounts that can be done a little at a time, every time I walk thru the yard.

It was a lot cooler yesterday, too. At least it was here north of Sac - high of 89! But...I didn't get any nasty garden chores done. :D Way to go, though, Sue!

Yesterday while it was cool, we put down plastic in an attempt to solarize a 2-3 ft wide strip along the side of the house where we intend to put down stones. With wetting down the soil, things got a bit muddy, but today I will clean up the mess after it dries. I don't know if the solarization will work (not a whole lot of sun available,) but if we are going to try it, now is the time. We'll see if it works.
