No offense but I wouldn't trade my carnivores for anything, however some good starter plants would be Butterworts because they are very hardy. Also try sundews(temperates)if you're just starting out, the one problem you might run into will be the dormancy period with them because if they don't go dormant chances are they'll die or won't be as robust. There are multiple websites with dormancy sections but a basic overview is that (if they're indoor CPs) you need to take the soil off of them, wrap them in damp spaghnum moss and put them in the fridge for 4-5 months. Even if you cant find a nursery go to lowes and rescue some plants from there, I got 5 bulbs of venus flytraps out of 2 plants that were in those coffins of terrariums they have. No offence taken, I know I am away from my "home: forum and probably no one would be interested but you have to ask ..Thank you for your good advice I will deffinately follow it ....Our local Lowes doesn't have any at this time , but I will keep looking and "save" a couple ...been doing some homework so I don't kill them ..

Ali, are your cacti hardy to zone 5 or 6. I don't have any carnivore plants to trade, but also interested in cacti. My VF and PP are not doing as well as they should. Had them for a couple of years and they are struggling. I am repotting the VF in pure peat to see if my bog somehow got contaminated with something.

Some of them are ,Some Opuntia's,And If they are kept dry a few others may do ok ..I do keep some outside ,but my zone is 7 I think ...North Carolina ...so they don't have it so tough. LMK if you are interested in trying some .
I'm just getting into the CP thing ...Have 4 types to work with. So far so good !
