not cheaper, no- maybe walmart, if they have it out- some years they have a good selection, others not so much. For really basic stuff sometimes you can get some things at the dollar store 10/$1, but i find i don't like the varieties, normally. All of the independent nurseries carry seeds but they are not cheaper than the big boxes. They do have much better selection, though. Logan's is especially impressive. I tend to order a lot of my seed from a couple companies, b/c it's cheaper and i get the exact varieties i want.

Thanks! I'll have to try hudsons and Logans for my other seed. All I needed this weekend was onion and broccoli - I found a good variety of broccoli at home depot, and they actually gave me FREE onion sets at Garden Supply co in Cary-

I used to always order online but for sites with good varieties it gets pretty expensive!

Both Le jardin du gourmet and pinetree garden seeds are reasonable and have a wonderful variety online.

If you can find a rack somewhere offering Wyatt Quarles brand (they're local) those packets seem to have the most seed per packet in my experience.
