The plant that got away...

Ever had a plant that you cherished and then lost, and have not been able to replace?

One year I planted Apricotia poppy seeds. They came up and bloomed -- I liked them OK -- but one had white flowers with a wonderful crapey texture to the petals. And it bloomed, and bloomed, and bloomed.... I can't remember now whether or not it produced seeds or if I just forgot to harvest any. The next year I was so wanting to see seedlings that I stood watch over a weed for months before I came out one morning and said to myself anyone with half an eye can see that that's not a poppy.

I'd still like more of those white poppies. I always wondered if it was an Apricotia/ White Peshwar hybrid -- maybe it didn't seed and that's why it bloomed so long -- anyway it was a wonderful plant.
