It is fine that you transplant your new Nepenthes into a new media. Even though it is not much of a big deal Mixing the old media with the new one. Nepenthes are usually transplanted every two years or whenever they outgrow their pots. You could transplant it into new media if you choose to.

Oh, when you water your Nepenthes, just Over-head water your plant. Not the tray method, since sometimes when the plant is watterlogged, its roots tend to Rot. After Over-Head Watering your plant, Make sure to spray with a Mister the leaves and pitchers with clean water. This water misting will help the plant to create Humidity around its surroundings, this high humidity will ecnourage your plant to create nice pitchers as well. It should recover from transplanting in a few weeks. So give the plant some time.

Oh, Nepenthes can be growned under Flourecent Lighting, a Bright Indirect Area, Or Bright shade from a window Sill. I grow my nepenthes in a bright window sill that gives 3-4 hours of mourning sunlight. I never expose my nepenthes To full afternoon sun since the strong sun damages and burns its leaves and pitchers. Nepenthes Usually Enjoy Bright Areas.

Ye to add onto what Xymox has said, a nice way to do the watering is if you have a water tray, fill it with Perlite and set the pot on top of this.
All the drained water will be absorbed with the Perlite.
I used the water tray method when I first got my plant (and didnt know any better), within the first week all the pitchers started to turn brown and die, I then found out about the water tray thing and filled it with Perlite.
Soon as I did this the pitchers stopped browning and the plant continued to grow perfectly.

What these guys say about not letting Nepenthes stand in water is incredbly true. I recently lost quite a few Neps to my lack of care in this area :(
