Crinums

I just planted my order of crinums from Plant Delights. I am so excited (I want to order MORE!) Here's what I received:

Crinum bulbispermum 'Sacramento'

Crinum 'Elizabeth Traub'

Crinum 'Ellen Bosanquet'

Crinum 'Mrs. James Hendry'

Does anyone have experience with these varieties? I'm wondering if I planted them in too small of a bed. I purchased 3 of each variety and placed them in a double dug bed (25' x 3'). I planted them at the same depth the nursery had them planted; though everything I've read recommends deeper bulb placement. I'm worried this might effect their winter hardiness. I haven't mulched the bed (yet). Thought I'd wait until it warms up a bit. Do crinums benefit from a good layer of mulch?

The bed has been bordered with about 50 daylilies that I transplanted. I hope I don't need to move them again. I am planting annuals throughout the bed to fill in and add continuity to the bed. What companion plants should I consider?
