Rosemary and non-trunking yuccas. Sometimes Plant Delights in Raleigh has some variegated yuccas.

Blue pacific junipers, cotoneasters, winter jasmine, and similar plants are relatively cheap, drought tolerant once established and are pretty indestructible.

Daylilies are great at holding on to the soil and stopping erosion. Denise

I vote Daylilies also. I transplanted about 100 of them last year from my mailbox and now I have about 150 plants in different parts of my garden. Since I have soooo much space to fill, it's a great way to put something in and just ignore it, until I can find something I like better. You just gave me an idea for my own bare berm.

thank you! I also found another recent post on the same topic. I think it looks like the best idea is to treat it like a garden-- using plants that will give it a sort of patchwork prairie/butterfly garden look. The daylillys and various other plants you all mentioned will all find a home I think. Boy--this is alot of ground though, its going to take a while. ;)
