Peonies! My favorite topic.

Magick, I ordered this peony from Park Seed last year. The root was very small and most likely tissue cultured, but it seems very healthy. Last year it sprouted only one 4" stem. It will probably be 3-4 years before it blooms, since the plant is so small. So I expect to wait a while, but peonies are usually worth the wait. Normally peonies take about 2-3 years to bloom anyway.

I am guessing that all of these companies are probably sending the TC peonies from the same wholesaler. So it probably doesn't matter which one of them you order from. This is the first time I have gotten a TC peony. So I'm not sure if there will be any differences in the TC peony vs. a root division.

If you want to purchase a root division of this plant, it would most likely cost much more ($100-$150???), but could be more true to form??

Kopper Kettle (aka Copper Kettle) was hybridized by Roger Anderson. I can't find any US sites selling it right now, (but that doesn't mean they're aren't any). I found these two Canadian sites selling it, but I'm sure you don't want the hassles of importing a plant.

I'm pretty sure that Century Oaks Peony Farm purchased Roger Anderson's stock, but I don't see that peony listed on their web site. Maybe they aren't offering it this year? I'm not sure, but they do have lots of other lovely (and pricey) selections...

Amulet - That's great news!!! Peonies do well here, but I have swapped most of them (I hate pink flowers) and now that I've found this one, I MUST have it :)
