I have dropped by the JC Raulston Arboretum twice this week because it is just that awesome at this time of year. If you live near the Raleigh area, the magnolias, edgeworthias and flowering bulbs are all blooming and the hellebores and veronica "Georgia Blue" are also in full glory.
