Overwintering Iochroma Question

Both my Iochroma australes are in pots. I started them late winter from seed. Both are 4-6' tall after being trimmed down, neither have bloomed yet. I am thinking I will let the first frost get them, then strip the leaves, cut them down to like 2-3' and put them in the cool dark basement. Water a tiny bit like every 5 weeks? Both are rootbound in their pots.

This is my first year with Iochroma and I dont want to kill them. Well, I'd at least like to see blooms before I kill them, lol.

I'm thinking they overwinter the same as brugs?

Is how I am thinking of doing this correct or no??

I hate having to think about this already, but cooler weather is making me nervous.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!
