Pre-emergents have worked best for me, but you have to apply them by Christmas. Think you are stuck with hand weeding for this year.

This is an annual, so you are wasting herbicide if you apply now. Most of it has already set seed and thrown them out to lurk in the soil for next year.

However, if you would rather see the brown patches, you can apply poison, but I am always afraid of hurting other plants. I don't want to overuse...save Round-Up for poison ivy and maybe Japanese honeysuckle if I am tired of pulling it up. That is a never ending battle here.

You're right...no Round-Up, too many plants. Corn gluten, I've read, doesn't include all the little chicks. What do you use? My email is gsutterfield@nc.rr.com

"Ortho Weed-B-Gon Chickweed, Clover and Oxalis Killer" will kill it and not hurt lawns, etc. if used as instructed.
