Dead Dawn Redwood Skeleton for climbers?

It was growing so well too.

Between two years of drought and juglone poisoning (I think) from a black walnut root system, one of my favorite trees kicked the bucket.

I'm thinking it might be the perfect skeleton for cardinal climber, scarlet runner bean and similar weight climbing annual vines. Scarlet runner may be too overwhelming for the spindly branches and 8' height too short for it.

Before I dig up the dead tree I want to know for sure what to put in its place (I read redbud is juglone tolerant) I want to see if the climbers like it there.

It's far away from my regular flower beds so cardinal climber self seeding wouldn't be an issue. It gets watered by the irrigation system and gets about 4 hours full sun before the hottest afternoon sun is filtered by neighbor's shade trees.

Is it worth trying? I think so. Any replacement would have to wait until fall for planting.
