Yup- that's pink pillar for sure! It's from the 50's and has the most wonderful fruity scent. Good for you for getting it rooted- it's one of the harder ones, according to Betty, who i got it from. The colors will darken a good bit more, to yellow, orange & red in cooler weather and it'll bloom on & off til very late fall. The only downside is the blooms only last for a day or 2 at most but it sets so many buds that it's not a big deal. I collect the petals for potpourri. The hips on this one are very pretty but taste metallic so skip them for tea if you're tempted. it does get blackspot but only a little and doesn't seem bothered by it. I never spray and mine's thrived even with only 5 hrs sun. It's not a super vigorous or long caned one- it'll take a few years to fill a trellis (unlike veilchenblau). My longest canes after 12+ years in the ground are still only about 8-10'.

Thanks, I'll have to write that down in more permanent marker now that I know it's right. The bloom is so striking -- it started out a soft but saturated apricot color before taking on the different pinks, really yummy.
