Itsounds like normal seed pods. My guess is that since this is a new lantana it was started early and is finished blooming and onto the seeding stage. You can try to pinch them off ans see if it encourages new blooms. I wouldn't give up on it, and would imagine it will take of like crazy next year. I am a pretty bad gardener and lantana is one of the few things I have ever been ale to grow!

Wait a month before you take any action. Both of these plants like it really hot, weather like we are having now but weren't having for the last month. I think that once things heat up both of them will perform just fine. Sometimes Elephants get holes in their ears for no apparent reason. If you don't see a bug eating it, I wouldn't spray it with anything. Bug sprays are pretty specific, so you really need to identify the bug before you spray. The only bug I can imagine it being would be caterpillar like the ones that eat holes in canna leaves. You can just flick them off of the leaf when you find them - no need to spray.

Wait until we get a hail storm..then the one hole will blend in with the many. So long as the spine of the leaf is intact, they're fine.
